Dr. Kimberli KcCallum, M.D.

Kimberli McCallum, M.D.

Medical Director & Founder of McCallum Place

Dr. McCallum is a board-certified psychiatrist in child, adolescent, and in adult psychiatry. She is a fellow of the American Psychiatric Association (FAPA) and a Certified Eating Disorders Specialist (CEDS) and remains an Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at Washington University. She received her medical degree from Yale University, completed her adult training at UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute, and her Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine. 

Dr. McCallum is a member of the Academy of Eating Disorders (AED) and serves on the board of directors of the National Eating Disorder Association (NEDA) and also the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (IAEDP).  Dr. McCallum is the founder of the Dahlia Partnership, a non-profit organization for family support and advocacy and a NEDA affiliate in St Louis

She has developed several eating disorder treatment programs, including inpatient, partial hospital and intensive outpatient programs.  Dr. McCallum has lectured across the country on a variety of topics achieving national recognition for her skills and knowledge in treating eating disorders.  In addition to founding and directing McCallum Place, she is a Co-Founder of Cedar Springs, an eating disorder treatment center in Austin, Texas and Founder of a new evidenced-based, outpatient disordered eating and obesity clinic in St. Louis called Webster Wellness Professionals.

Lynn Stark, A.P.R.N., M.S.N.

Clinical Nurse Specialist - Program Director

Lynn received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Ball State University and her Master’s Degree in Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Nursing from Indiana University. She has 20 years of experience providing group and individual therapy to adults and adolescents with eating disorders and other psychiatric illnesses. In addition to coordinating the opening and development of several eating disorder centers, Lynn has lectured to area physicians, schools, and community groups on the topic of eating disorders. As an advanced practice nurse, she has a thorough understanding of the medical complications associated with eating disorders. At McCallum Place, Lynn works with individuals and family members to help them understand the recovery process and physical changes associated with refeeding. Her current projects include working on her Doctorate of Nursing at University of Missouri.

Dr. Caroline Rudnick, M.D.

Caroline Rudnick, M.D.

Medical Staff

Caroline is a board-certified physician in Family Medicine and has been in practice for 10 years. She completed her MD and PhD at Washington University in St. Louis and her family medicine residency at St. John's Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis. She is currently on faculty at St. Louis University. Her special interests are women's health and eating disorders. She has been caring for patients with eating disorders for the past 3 years and is a member of the Academy for Eating Disorders (AED). Dr. Rudnick has also recently joined Webster Wellness Professionals, a new evidenced-based, outpatient disordered eating and obesity clinic in St. Louis.

Dr. Monica Bishop, M.D.

Monica Bishop, M.D.

Medical Staff

In addition to working with McCallum Place, Dr. Bishop is an Instructor in the Washington University Department of Psychiatry. She is involved in several ongoing projects in the lab which are focused on binge eating disorder, anorexia nervosa, childhood obesity, and interpersonal and family therapies. Dr. Bishop is also involved in clinical teaching and supervision of Washington University residents and medical students as an Instructor and Clinic Attending.

Upon completing her BA in Psychology at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA, she worked as a research assistant with Dr. Mary Morrison on a study of the effects of estrogen on depression in post-menopausal women. She then came to St. Louis to attend medical school at Washington University School of Medicine, where she also completed her residency training in general psychiatry in June 2005. After completing her residency training, Dr. Bishop completed a post-doctoral research fellowship with Denise Wilfley, Ph.D. in the Weight Management
and Eating Disorders Program at Washington University.

Lauren Flynn, M.D.

Medical Staff

Dr. Lauren Flynn earned both her Bachelor of Sciene degree and her M.D. from Saint Louis University. She completed her post graduate training at Saint Louis University where she was Chief Resident in Psychiatry. Dr. Flynn has long had an active interest in the treatment of eating disorders, as well as psychiatric illness(es) complicated by concomitant medical disorders.

Direct Care

The direct care staff includes counselors and registered nurses who are responsible for patient care throughout the day and evening. Our directcare staff members have experience and education regarding treatment of eating disorders and receive ongoing training. They are with patients during meals, accompany them to groups and activities and are available to help solve problems 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

McCallum Place is proud to have highly specialized registered/licensed dietitians on staff. Our dietitians bring clinical experience with eating disorders to our treatment program. We appreciate the diverse background of the clinical nutrition staff in areas such as sports nutrition, clinical nutrition, psychology, childhood refeeding disorders, allied health, personal training, complementary nutrition and outpatient nutrition counseling.

Kate Evett, RD, LD

Lead Dietitian

Kate is a registered and licensed dietitian specializing in the treatment of eating disorders. Kate is also a Lifestyle and Weight Management Consultant through the American Council on Exercise. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Human Nutrition from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2000 and began working in the field of eating disorders in 2004. Kate assists her patients in developing a healthy relationship with food through a non-diet approach. She has extensive experience working with patients who require nutrition support and those needing dietary modifications for food allergies.; Kate works closely with the Sports Medicine and Training Center to assist patients in developing an exercise program prior to discharge. In addition to working with patients in the Residential and Partial Hospital Program at McCallum Place, Kate maintains an outpatient practice in the St. Louis area.

Jenny Maniaci, RD, LD

Dietitian

Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Environmental Sciences with a major in Nutritional Sciences and an emphasis in Medical Dietetics from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She is a registered dietitian and licensed in the state of Missouri. Jennifer worked as a Clinical Dietitian at St. Anthony’s Hospital in St. Louis before joining the McCallum Place staff in December 2007. She works primarily with the Intensive Outpatient Program and also part-time with Residential and Partial Hospital patients. She is a member of the American Dietetic Association and locally participates in the St. Louis Dietetic Association. She is also a member of the Behavioral Health Nutrition Dietetics Practice Group.

Jessica Germanese, RD, LD

Dietitian

Jessica graduated Magna Cum Laude from Saint Louis University with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics in May of 2008. She was on the Dean’s List for 6 semesters and was the recipient of the Chairman’s Award for Outstanding Undergraduate Student of the Year. She completed her dietetic internship at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. Here she became the recipient of the American Dietetic Association Foundation’s Colonel Miriam E. Perry Goll Scholarship. She was a Nutrition Educator for Share Our Strength’s Operation Frontline and assisted in the development of curriculum for nutrition education classes while also providing basic education classes about nutrition, cooking and food safety to school-aged children. Jessica joined the McCallum Place family over five years ago as Nutrition Staff and has since begun her professional career with us. Jessica is a Member of the American Dietetic Association (ADA).

Erica Timmermann, MS, RD, LD

Dietitian

Erica attended St. Louis University where she earned a bachelors in Nutrition and Dietetics. She then completed her dietetic internship at Benedictine University in Lisle, IL. Here she earned her master's degree in Nutrition and Wellness while completing a thesis titled 'The Relationship Between Dietary Protein Intake and BMI status among School-Aged Children". Erica is currently a member of the American Dietetic Association, Missouri Dietetic Association, and the Saint Louis Dietetic Association. Erica is also a certified personal trainer through AFAA (Aerobic and Fitness Association of America). Erica has had an interest in working with eating disorders since the beginning of her educational career in nutrition. She is also experienced in pediatric nutrition and weight management.

Stephanie Whitney, MA, A.T.R.-BC, LPC

Lead Therapist; Group Art Therapist

Stephanie Whitney earned her Master of Arts Degree in Art Therapy Counseling from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville (SIUE). She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Registered Art Therapist – Board Certified. Stephanie is trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Stephanie has worked extensively with adults and adolescents with a variety of clinical issues, including eating disorders, body image, and trauma. Her theoretical approach combines object-relations theory and expressive therapy.; Stephanie is an Adjunct Faculty member in the Graduate Art Therapy Counseling program at SIUE. Stephanie is a member of the American Art Therapy Association and serves on the board of the Missouri Art Therapy Association.

Lindsey Herzog, MSW, LCSW

Therapist

Lindsey Herzog received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Brandeis University and her Master of Social Work degree from the George Warren Brown School of Social Work at Washington University. Her area of training for her Master’s was in Mental Health and Family Therapy. Lindsey is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Missouri. Lindsey has experience treating and providing therapy to individuals, groups and families. She has worked with individuals in out-patient, in-patient, residential and educational settings. In addition, Lindsey has treated adolescents and adults with a broad range of mental health issues including depression, anxiety, abuse and eating disorders. She has facilitated groups around anger management, self-esteem and relapse prevention. Her treatment approach combines cognitive-behavioral and solution focused therapy. Lindsey is a member of the National Association of Social Workers as well as a member of the Council for Child Abuse and Neglect.

Heather Barcroft, MA, PLPC

Therapist

Heather received a bachelors of Science in Kinesiology and Health Psychology from the University of North Texas, and her Master of Arts of Professional Counseling from Argosy University- Dallas. Her area of interest include eating disorders, depression, women’s issues, and co-morbid disorders. Heather received her training at Timberlawn hospital in Dallas, working on the Trauma and Eating Disorder Unit. She has also had training with children and adolescents. Heather is a member of the American Counseling Association, the American Creative Counseling Association, and the National Eating Disorder Association.

Denise earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Masters of Art in Counseling from Lindenwood University. She first joined McCallum Place for her graduate practicum training in the eating disorders field.  Her interests include eating disorders, depression, and anxiety. Denise’s treatment approaches combine Cognitive-Behavioral, solution-focused, and person-centered therapies.

Jennifer Summers, Psy.D.

Manager of Clinical Services; Therapist

Jennifer received her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Indiana University, her Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from Antioch University New England, and her Doctorate of Clinical Psychology from Antioch University New England.  Jennifer completed a practicum in eating disorders at Yale University, a two-year doctoral internship in Dialectical Behavior Therapy at a Massachusetts family clinic, and a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in Anxiety Disorders at the St. Louis Behavioral Medicine Institute.  Jennifer completed her doctoral dissertation on the role of body image and spirituality among cancer patients.  Jennifer is dedicated to helping those suffering from eating disorders move toward recovery and living a life filled with meaning and purpose.

IOP Therapist

Marie received her Bachelors of Science Degree in Psychology from Southern Illinois University- Edwardsville, and her Masters of Education in Counseling from University Missouri- St. Louis. Her areas of interest and experience include eating disorders, depression, and anxiety. She also has training with children and adolescents through individual therapy and interest groups. Marie is dedicated to working with those suffering with eating disorders as they transition to a healthy life outside of treatment.

Tammy Hoyt, MSW, LCSW

Individual Therapist, Group Therapist

Tammy earned her Master of Social Work degree from the George Warren Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis. She then spent the next 12 years at Child Center – Marygrove, Missouri’s second largest residential facility for children, teens, and young adults that provides a safe and healing environment for its residents. Here she held multiple positions: therapist, Director of Sequoia Apartment Services, and Director of Cypress Cottage’s Sex Offender Unit. She then went on to provide counseling services to college students as a therapist at St. Louis University and provided training to university staff on addressing student mental health issues and crisis response. Tammy’s areas of specialty include eating disorder treatment, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), sexual trauma, sexual behavior problems/offending, and family therapy. Tammy is presently working towards becoming a certified eating disorders specialist through Internal Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (IAEDP).
