It is with great enthusiasm that I am pleased to announce that our residential program now accepts males who have been struggling with eating disorders.
After treating men and boys in our partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs for some time now, I am excited to announce that we are now accepting male patients in our residential program. Effective immediately, adolescent boys and adult men can receive evidence-based treatment in a safe, home-like setting at McCallum Place. Boys age 17 and younger will participate in our adolescent program, and men age 18 and above will participate in our adult program.
As many of you might already realize, male athletes are at high risk to develop eating disorders, yet rarely get treatment. Therefore, our Victory Program, which offers specialized care for elite athletes with eating disorders, will also be accepting males in the residential program. Both high school and adult male athletes can receive treatment, restore their health and return to their chosen sport.
As the number of males with eating disorders continue to rise, I am proud that my experienced team of medical, psychiatric, and nutrition professionals at McCallum Place have embraced the opportunity to support and help these boys and men find their strength within.
